The teaching program at Fresh Start English is based on our unique teaching technique to ensure students maximize their learning. Our pedagogy is based on the Cambridge English Method which relies heavily on interactive/participative teaching.
Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) is the standard for measuring English as a Second Language. Our courses are designed specifically to match this progression with a mix of Cambridge Assessment English(CAE) to fine tune each student's needs and abilities.
View videoEach course cycle is 10-20 weeks long with two weeks between courses. Our classes are usually taught five days a week and last for one hour with ten minutes before and after the lesson dedicated to relationship building activities. Tutoring will be offered to all students during predetermined time periods. There will be a conversation practice group with native speakers twice a week where students can practice their abilities and make lifelong friends.
Our students are under constant evaluation due to the nature of our classroom atmosphere and Teaching style. We have quizzes every Friday to zero in on troubled areas for our students and use the Cambridge English Tests at the end of each of our courses. (i.e. YLE for young learners, KEY for A2, PET for B1, FCE for B2, CAE for C1, and CPE for C2.) We also use Linguaskill for our diagnostic tests to gauge what level we need to start our students. Linguaskill is scored on the Cambridge English Scale which is considered the most accurate assessment currently on the market.
We monitor the daily progress of our students with light interactive homework and daily modules where our teachers observe and assist according to the student's needs.
